Barbara Ann Collins, 77, Crossville, IL formerly of Grayville, IL passed away at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Barbara was born on March 9, 1939 in Detroit, MI and was the daughter of Floyd Meyers and Mary Catherine (Hayes) Meyers. In 1958 she married William Collins and they later divorced.
Barbara was formerly a telephone operator in Madisonville, KY; a CNA at the Meadowwoods Nursing Home in Grayville, IL for many years and she worked for many people as a home health care provider, retiring in 2004. She loved to read especially the Bible, working jig saw puzzles, shopping, crocheting, and knitting. Barbara was of the Baptist faith.
Barbara is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law Bill Collins, Olney, IL and Robert and Victoria Collins, Stanley, N.M.; her daughter and son-in-law Diana and Bob Christie, Keensburg, IL; six grandchildren: Chris and Jennifer Christie, Mt. Carmel, IL; J. R. and Melonie Christie, Mt. Carmel, IL; Sandra Marie and David Smith, Grayville, IL; Michael Collins, Olney, IL; Jonathan Collins, Olney, IL and Christina and Tanner Graham, Lawrenceville, IL; several great-grandchildren; locally by a cousin Helen and Bud Bracket, Robinson, IL long with several cousins in Michigan.
Preceding Barbara in death were her parents; two brothers, one in infancy and Jimmy Meyer.
